How I help / Build it

Websites. Clear, quick and properly yours.

I design and build websites that explain what you do, load quickly and work for everyone who visits, on a phone or a big screen. Then I hand them over so you can keep them up to date without calling me for every comma.

Websites, at a glance.

What you get

A website designed around your visitors’ questions: what you do, why it matters and how to get in touch. Fast, clear and accessible.

Design and build

I design the pages and write the code myself, so nothing gets lost between a pretty mock-up and the site that actually goes live.

Accessible by default

Readable contrast, keyboard-friendly navigation, sensible headings and image descriptions. Good for people, and good for search engines too.

Easy to update

Plain pages, a content management system or a headless setup. The right choice depends on who edits the site and how often.

When a new website earns its keep.

Your website is often the first conversation someone has with you, long before they pick up the phone. If it is slow, vague or awkward on a phone, they quietly leave.

A good website does a few simple things very well: it says what you do in plain words, answers the obvious questions and makes the next step easy.

You have outgrown the old one

The services changed and the copy did not. Or the site was built for desktops, and now most visitors arrive on a phone.

Updating it is a chore

Every change needs a developer, so nothing gets changed. The right setup lets your team edit content safely.

It has to connect to other systems

Enquiry forms, bookings, a CRM or a shop. The website becomes the front door to the work behind it.

How I build a website.

Start with the visitor

Who arrives, what they need to know and what you would like them to do next. That shapes the pages before any design.

Plan words and design together

Copy and layout are planned side by side, so the design carries the message instead of decorating it.

Build it fast and accessible

Clean, lightweight code and responsive layouts, tested on real phones and browsers, with accessibility checks along the way.

Launch and hand over

Domain, hosting and search basics such as titles, descriptions and a sitemap, plus a short guide to keeping the site current.

Designer and developer, same person.

I do UI, UX and graphic design, including freelance work on 99designs, and I develop software myself as external / fractional CTO at Kona Libre. On a website, that means the design is realistic to build, and the build stays true to the design.

When the site needs to connect to something bigger, such as a CRM, a shop or a custom application, I can design and build that part too.

A sensible first step.

For a site with a clear brief, I quote the build to scope using the defined implementation day rate as the planning basis. The quote covers design, build, testing and handover.

If the brief is still forming, focused discovery can settle the audience, structure and content plan first, with a clickable demo when that helps. Current prices are under Engagements & pricing.

Focused discovery and defined builds

A useful next step

What should your website say?

Tell me who it is for and what you would like visitors to do. A rough outline is plenty, and the first 30-minute conversation is free.

You’ll speak directly with me about the problem, the fit and a sensible next step.
