Sector experience / Education

Education. Technology that helps people learn.

My experience includes work in education. Schools, colleges, universities and training providers serve many different people at once, so their technology has to be simple for learners, practical for staff and careful with personal data.

Websites, processes, integrations and user research

Education, at a glance.

Education experience

My experience includes work in education. This page describes what tends to matter there and how I can help, without naming organisations.

Many audiences

Learners, parents, teachers, administrators and leaders each need something different from the same system.

Accessible and inclusive

Learners differ in ability, language and device. Accessibility and plain language are requirements, not extras.

Careful with data

Learner data, often about young people, needs clear access rules, consent and retention agreed from the start.

What matters in education.

The academic calendar

Terms, enrolment and exam periods set the timeline. Changes land best in the quiet weeks, with training before the busy ones.

Busy staff

Teachers and administrators have little time to learn a new tool. It has to be obvious, or it will not be used.

Existing platforms

Learning platforms, student records and finance systems are already in place. New tools need to fit around them.

Budgets and decisions

Funding is often fixed and decisions involve several people. A clear scope and a phased plan help.

Where I can help.

Accessible websites and clear information for prospective learners. Simpler admin processes, such as enrolment, onboarding or approvals. Small custom tools and integrations between the systems you already use. And user research with the people who will actually use the result.

A sensible first step.

Focused discovery is a bounded way to start: one defined process, up to four of my working days and a clear solution plan, with a clickable demo when that helps.

Larger changes across departments or systems start with a complex systems assessment. Current prices are under Engagements & pricing.
