How I design interfaces.
Start from the flow
Visual design follows a working journey. If the steps are wrong, a prettier screen will not save them.
Set the foundations
Type scale, colour, spacing and a small set of components, checked for contrast and readability.
Design every state
Empty, loading, error and success. The quiet moments are where most interfaces confuse people.
Hand over cleanly
Specifications developers can follow, or a working build when I am also writing the code.
